What are your rates?

We offer several training options, including private and group sessions tailored for puppies and adult dogs. Just so you know, our group classes are on hold during the winter months and resume in the Spring.

We provide private behavioral training to help dogs with problems such as generalized fear, dog- or stranger-directed aggression, separation distress, biting, house-soiling, or just pure naughtiness.

What are your hours?

You can contact us anytime via phone, text, or email. We will make every effort to respond to you within 24 hours. We offer private training sessions as early as 8 am, and our last session starts at 4 pm.

We offer our training sessions weekdays, Wednesday through Friday, and on both Saturday and Sunday – toork within your and your family’s ensure we can w already hectic schedule.

Do you offer private training?

We do offer private training at Dog Gone Smarter! Our expertise lies in tackling behavioral issues such as inappropriate elimination, excessive barking, frequent jumping, fear-based responses, aggressive tendencies, biting incidents, and many others!

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we do offer payment plans!

How do I set up a behavioral evaluation for my dog?

Smart thinking! The best way to get started is by visiting our “Getting Started” web page. There, you will find details and instructions on how to fill out a Dog Gone Smarter Behavioral Evaluation form. Once this form is submitted, we will be in touch with you to set up a behavioral evaluation for your dog!

Do you offer training in the home?

Yes, we do offer training at your home. Our behaviorist will discuss the training options with you during your behavioral evaluation.

How much is a behavioral evaluation for my dog?

Our behavioral evaluations are only $75.

PLUS: For a limited time and through a partnership with the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, we now include a free Canine Personality Test (valued at $55) with every behavioral evaluation.

Where do you train?

We principally train at the H.M. Terpenning Tualatin Valley Recreation Complex located at the corner of 158th and Walker Road in Beaverton. It is a 92-acre public park that offers an ideal real-world training environment.

We also train at other locations in Hillsboro and Beaverton, including your home and neighborhood – if recommended by our behaviorists. For more details on our training locations, please see our Where We Train page.

How do I get started?

Getting started is easy; text us (503-308-4842), and we can set up a quick phone call OR, if you are ready – go ahead and schedule your dog for an expert behavioral evaluation.

How do I get a Canine Personality Test?

Our canine personality tests are only $55.

Through a partnership with the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, we now include a free Canine Personality Test (valued at $55) with every behavioral evaluation ($75).

You can just head over to our Getting Started page and submit a behavioral evaluation form, and we will contact you to schedule a time.

Do you work with fearful and aggressive dogs?

Indeed, we offer assistance to dogs struggling with fear and aggression. Our expertise lies in tackling behavioral issues such as inappropriate elimination, excessive barking, frequent jumping, fear-based responses, aggressive tendencies, biting incidents, and many others! Simply contact us to arrange for a behavior analysis.

The cost is only $75 and offers you the opportunity to consult our animal behaviorist to determine the necessary steps for your canine companion to achieve the desired behavioral change. You can reach out to us via text message at 503-308-4842.

Do you work with rescues?

Indeed, approximately one-third of the dogs under our care are rescues, and we possess a wealth of knowledge dealing with standard rescue behavioral issues like over-excitement leading to jumping, poor response to commands, and distress when left alone. To learn more about our offerings, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

A good first step would be to complete a behavioral assessment form and arrange a consultation with our canine behavior expert. All these steps and more can be undertaken by navigating to our ‘Getting Started‘ page.

Do you offer refunds?

To uphold the standard of our service and maintain affordable pricing, Dog Gone Smarter LLC does not provide refunds for our services. However, we include lifetime training refreshers on all our training packages as we sincerely value your satisfaction and happiness.

What do you know about the dog pandemic?

We at Dog Gone Smarter are aware of the current canine respiratory outbreak (CIRDC) and have taken precautions to ensure your dog can be trained safely during this outbreak. We currently only offer private sessions and clean all items that come in contact with a dogs saliva – where these pathogens are readily transmitted.

In addition, our training sessions do not include nose-to-nose contact between your dog and another dog – keeping your dog and family safer. Health officials do not recommend ANY (unfamiliar) dog-to-dog contact during this CIRDC respiratory outbreak.

Can you tell me more about kennel cough?

The work that we do is cumulative and it is important to commit to the entire process if one is to achieve successful, sustainable behavioral change in their dogs. Our experience has demonstrated to us that this commitment is key to achieving successful, sustainable behavioral change.
